Mutual & Federal scores Best Insurer hat-trick in SAMBRA Awards

FSB investigates SaXum for irregularities

The Financial Services Board (FSB) is investigating possible irregularities in the business conduct of SaXum Insurance, after the short-term insurer was placed into liquidation by the High Court in Johannesburg last week, leaving 3,500 claims, amounting to R15m, unpaid.

Don’t Be a Rookie When it Comes To Hail Storm Safety

It’s hail season in many of SA’s provinces, and these little (or sometimes, big) balls of ice cause millions of rands’ worth of destruction in South Africa every year.

The frequency of hail storms is closely related to height above sea level, and hail storms are often associated with thunder storms typical in high-lying summer rainfall areas.

Statistics show the highest frequency (approximately five hail storms per year) in South Africa in the Highveld/Bushveld areas.

MIBCO WAGE- AND SUBSTANTIVE NEGOTIATIONS-UPDATE

The mediation sessions between the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) on the one hand, and the RMI, National Employers’ Association of South Africa (NEASA) and the Fuel Retailers’ Association (FRA) on the other, continued on the 12th of October 2016 in the form of a bilateral meeting between NUMSA and the RMI / NEASA, in an endeavour to resolve the present wage- and substantive disputes between the parties.
