The theme of Richard’s (National Director) key note address was  “Building Connections & Embracing Change” through SAMBRA’s diverse “claw back” strategies.

He updated members on SAMBRA’s financial status, upcoming marketing initiatives, industry status & SAMBRA’s current stance & positioning. Richard underscored the importance of the grading programme, and the conservation of “Standards & Quality” - not only in production but also in business  / financial management / corporate governance / compliance & service delivery.

He also reminded delegates of SAMBRA’s core roles:

  • Providing direct assistance
  • Adding tangible value through brand building
  • "Push back” on behalf of members
  • Exploiting technology to enhance service delivery
  • To be the MBR Industry Custodians, through consistent dialogue with industry partners & role players.

The new REC met directly after the AGM to select a REC Chair & Vice Chair. Associate members were also co-opted to serve on the REC.
