Driving success: month five of the RMI branding campaign
Our July campaign continued to build awareness of the RMI and drive traffic to our member businesses through strategic exposure on BusinessTech. Results for the article, “Driving transformation and skills in the automotive sector” delivered excellent performance, significantly exceeding industry benchmarks. Results for Business Tech: July The BusinessTech campaign delivered more than 6.4 million digital views, including reach generated through the two Business Talk interviews with Michael Avery featuring Louis van Huyssteen and Noni Tshabalala. The campaign achieved more than 1.9 million article impressions and 275,645 banner impressions, with an outstanding 0.37% engagement rate – more than double the industry benchmark of 0.15%. Social Media July delivered the campaign’s strongest social media visibility to date, generating 480,450 impressions, more than double June’s total. The RMI’s combined social media community also grew to 21,410 followers by month-end, representing 48.9% growth since March and demonstrating continued momentum across the campaign’s digital platforms.

Developing Talent Beyond Stereotypes
August gives us the opportunity to celebrate both Women’s Month and TVET Month, reminding us that the future of South Africa’s automotive repair industry depends on recognising talent wherever it is found. At SAMBRA, we believe it is time to move beyond outdated stereotypes and focus on developing the skills, passion and professionalism that will drive our sector forward. By encouraging more women to pursue rewarding technical careers and strengthening the pathways between vocational training and the workplace, we are helping to build a more diverse, capable and sustainable industry for the future. Women helping to drive South Africa’s automotive aftermarket forward As South Africa celebrates Women’s Month, the Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI) recognises the growing contribution of women across its approximately 8,500 employer members. Women are no longer participating only in traditionally administrative or support roles. Across vehicle dealerships, independent workshops, panel beating businesses, parts operations and fuel retail establishments, women are working as sales professionals, technical specialists, qualified artisans, departmental managers, business owners and dealer principals. Driving success: month four of the RMI branding campaign
June marked another strong month for the RMI’s Trust the Sign campaign, with sustained growth across digital channels and increasing engagement with motorists, industry stakeholders and prospective members. Results for the BusinessTech article, “Youth Month shines spotlight on automotive sector’s talent pipeline” More than 2.35 million people reached through BusinessTech. A further 204,500 impressions generated across RMI’s social media platforms. Combined campaign reach of more than 2.55 million during June. 2026 RMI Social Campaign KPIs_lw.docx Social media performance LinkedIn continued to strengthen the campaign’s presence among industry professionals and decision-makers, supporting the RMI’s credibility and B2B awareness objectives. Facebook & Instagram remained the strongest platforms for community growth and engagement, with Facebook increasing to 8,468 followers (+18.7%) and Instagram to 439 followers (+37.6%). TikTok continued to introduce the RMI to new audiences, helping expand awareness of the organisation and its accredited members among younger South Africans.
