SAMBRA grading/accreditation standards were developed over 25 years ago and are consistently checked to ensure they match the MBR industry needs and standards. No other accreditation standard other than OEM specific standards exist and if they do they are copies of the original SAMBRA grading criteria.

SAMBRA’s accreditation standards are recognized by all major Insurers and are often included in government regulatory documents as the industry standard. Therefore, when you do a map search to find a motor body repairer to repair your vehicle, you will notice that each SAMBRA member is identified as either a non-structural repairer, or a structural repairer.

The scope of work, as described below, is a general guideline when choosing an auto body repairer when you have been involved in any kind of an accident.

Non-Structural (NSR) or 'Structural (SR) motor body repairers. So what's the difference?

  • Non-Structural Repairers can repair and replace panels that bolt on and off such as bumpers, fenders, bonnets, valance, spoilers and paintless dent removal.
  • Structural Repairers can perform all structural and non-structural repairs to passenger and light commercial vehicles.

Special Note: SAMBRA accreditation does not automatically qualify a repairer for Manufacturer (OEM) approvals other than Mazda.  Please check this with the repairer in question.
