Toyota Menlyn issued a warning to all Motor Body Repairers, Roadworthy Stations, and Car Washes to be extra vigilant, as they have fallen victim to theft. Criminals contacted the suppliers, posing as representatives of the dealership. They have accurate information about the vehicles, leading the suppliers to release the vehicles to the criminals. Unfortunately, the criminals successfully drove off with two Toyota Quantum’s.
Please ensure that all staff members are made aware of this incident and the security threat it poses. Instruct them to confirm and verify the identity of anyone coming to collect a vehicle. It is essential to make a photocopy of the ID or driver’s license of the person collecting the vehicle and use this information to cross-verify with the client, ensuring that the correct individual is indeed collecting the vehicle. This additional layer of identification verification can contribute to preventing unauthorised persons from taking possession of vehicles.
