SAMBRA has secured an industry-first approval from the Competition Commission under the SMME Block Exemption Regulations.
This gives SAMBRA a new ability to collectively negotiate operational and commercial SLA terms with individual insurers on behalf of qualifying SMME members, strengthening our ability to address contractual risk, administrative burden and unfair or disproportionate SLA conditions.
Member independence on rates
Importantly, members remain fully independent in determining and negotiating their own labour rates and remuneration. SAMBRA will continue supporting members with tools to better understand the economics of their individual businesses.
The next steps for member consultation
Our next step is to consult members on the SLA principles and concerns that should inform our future engagements with insurers, while we finalise the required governance and compliance framework.
This is a significant milestone for SAMBRA and an important new capability in how we represent and support our members.
