A lively panel discussion took place at this year’s HyperMobility virtual event on 18th November. The hot topic being the role of car dealerships in the South African mobility landscape.
It was agreed that the the role of dealerships, despite this changing landscape, was still important! With buyers still looking for open discussion about the offer on the table, as well as the history and benefits of the car.
“…We also believe that dealerships, especially those in rural areas, play a big role in the life of their communities, which remains important even in these changing times,”
Mark Dommisse, the Chairperson of the National Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA)
Emphasis was placed on planning for the future, rather than living day-by-day. A priority for dealerships today should be to pursue alternate revenue streams.
What are the alternatives?
Including alternative services, says NADA Chairperson, Mark Dommisse, ‘such as selling tyres, and providing quick service for clutch and shock absorber replacements…’ could help to generate cashflow for a dealership.
