A SAMBRA-accredited member in Secunda, Mpumalanga is seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead the operations of its factory-approved auto body repair workshop.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic automotive professional with proven workshop management experience, strong leadership skills and a passion for operational excellence. The successful candidate will oversee workshop performance, drive profitability, lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure the highest standards of repair quality and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the auto body repair workshop’s operations
- Lead, motivate and develop technical, estimating and administrative teams
- Ensure timely, high-quality repairs with a “right first time” approach
- Improve workshop efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Maintain compliance with factory approvals and insurer service level agreements (SLAs)
- Build strong relationships with customers, insurers, brokers, assessors and suppliers
- Monitor workshop performance and report to ownership
- Manage budgets, control costs and maximise profitability
- Drive marketing initiatives and pursue business growth opportunities
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role within the automotive repair industry
- In-depth knowledge of auto body repair processes, standards and industry best practices
- Strong leadership, people management and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in TMS, Abuntex, Audatex, Microsoft Office, Lightstone and insurer portals
- Results-driven with a strong focus on profitability and customer satisfaction
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Currently employed in an approved repair workshop
- Applicants should reside in Secunda or surrounding areas, or be willing to relocate (relocation assistance is available)
