There’s something special about honouring your roots and paying tribute to your traditions.
That’s why the SAMBRA head office team celebrated what it means to be South African this Heritage Day on 23 September. Staff was encouraged to wear their traditional attire with pride to the office and to bring traditional dishes which represent their heritage. We had the most delicious array of dishes ranging from chicken feet, to bobotie, to curries and Koeksisters. What an absolute feast!!!! This was the culmination of our month-long celebrations on social media, where we explored the theme: “Our living heritage: Strengthening the ties that bind us”.
For us at SAMBRA, those ties mean so much: it’s the colleague who takes the time to share a solution when everyone else is feeling baffled; the skilled technician who passes knowledge on to an apprentice; and the people who share the tips and tricks that can make all the difference.
These are the small interactions taking place every day that help strengthen our industry.
