The South African Government has extended the COVID-19 Temporary Employee Relief Scheme (TERS) benefits to 15 August 2020. Following fraudulent activity surrounding UIF payments, increased bank verification controls have been put in place.
The IOL article explains that due to the changes in the process, payment had been delayed, but resumed over the weekend and will be open until the middle of August.
